Do you fancy working in Radio? Would you like to help make a difference in your community?

Well, here is your chance. We are volunteers, all giving our time to provide news, event information, great music and support, behind the scenes of Black Cat Radio, to the whole St.Neots community. And, we are currently looking for enthusiastic people to take up the challenge. There are lots of ways you can get involved:

  • Gathering and co-ordinating news and information from around the many groups and organisations in the town
  • Helping to plan and organise our presence at events
  • Adding your technical expertise to the challenging activities of the station
  • Presenting a radio programme
  • Bringing your sales experience to help raise the much-needed funds that keep the station running.

We are currently looking for:

Radio Presenters – We’re looking for fun people with personality, and a real connection with people and with music. Even if you haven’t been on radio before, this could be your chance. We’ll provide training in the presentation and the technical skills required. You need to be a clear speaker, be able to follow a format, and be able to engage with an audience. Ideally, you’ll be presenting a two-hour show each week, so we need commitment. In addition, there is preparation time and some local events to attend, so expect to give around 4-5 hours per week.  If this is you, we’d love to hear from you.

Programme Producers – We need people who can create a story from local information. Producers write, collate and compile engaging, local news and information to be read out on-air. You need to have a good level of English grammar and spelling, and be a creative writer.
